New technology. Decades of testing expertise. A closer look at how TransPak engineers are preparing packaging for what comes next.
Protecting complex products doesn’t stop when the packaging is designed. Before a solution reaches the real world, it can be tested against the conditions and forces it may encounter along the way.
It takes state-of-the-art testing equipment. It takes experience. It takes everything.
As part of the expansion of TransPak’s Test Lab in Hayward, California, we’re adding new equipment and capabilities designed to help our engineers evaluate packaging performance across increasingly demanding applications.
In our latest video, Pete Brown, Director of Test Lab Products and Services, gives us a closer look at one of those new capabilities: a large-scale walk-in environmental test chamber designed to perform temperature and humidity conditioning on full crate systems and tall rack configurations that can exceed the size limitations of standard test chambers.
The investment comes as the products our customers need to protect continue to grow in size, weight and complexity. In many cases, the challenge isn’t developing an entirely new type of test; it’s having testing equipment with the capacity to accommodate the products and packaging systems being developed today.
This new environmental test chamber is one example. Its size gives our engineering team greater flexibility to condition larger packaging systems, test multiple samples simultaneously, and support multi-day test cycles. But the value isn’t limited to testing within the chamber itself. Packaging can be preconditioned under controlled temperature and humidity conditions and then moved on to more dynamic testing, helping our engineers identify potential vulnerabilities, validate performance, and make more informed packaging decisions.
For Brown, who brings decades of experience in package testing to TransPak, the expanded lab is about giving engineers more tools to understand packaging performance, reduce risk and refine solutions before a customer’s product ever begins its journey.
And this is only one part of what’s coming to the expanded TransPak Test Lab.
Watch the video for a closer look inside and stay tuned as we reveal more of the people, technology and expertise behind what it takes to protect what matters.
