Eco-friendly Shipping Solutions

TransPak is committed to improving the impact on the environment caused by our products and services. We constantly look for new methods and materials that promote a sustainable supply chain.

    Reusable & Refurbished Crates

TransPak designs, engineers and builds 100% reusable crates. You can choose from a variety of recommended hardware components to suit your specific needs. High reusability is accomplished by designing interiors that are much different from single-use crates, allowing easy installation and de-installation of your product while at the same time properly securing and protecting it during transit. TransPak will also retrieve unpacked crates from your facility and refurbish worn and damaged components, reducing the use of new source materials and providing a cost savings.

    Green Packaging Materials

TransPak has access and experience with a variety of cutting edge environmentally friendly materials including soy and water based inks and adhesives. We also carry EnviroKraft, a 100% Post Consumer Recycled Corrugated box. The single-wall is 32 ECT C-flute and Kraft, which is common for UPS shipments that are 30 pounds or less. EnviroKraft also comes in a heavy-duty 51 ECT Double-wall, which is effective with heavier packages or items that are more fragile. TransPak offers void fill alternatives like Molded pulp Cushion Cubes. This cube is a good alternative for blocking and bracing fragile or odd sized items. We also offer a small triangular paper tube called ExpandOS that can be manufactured in your facility on-demand. The equipment requires just four square feet and a standard 110-volt outlet to produce enough void fill for the highest volume applications. Another option, GeoSpring, is a thermoformed reusable plastic that is made from recycled HDPE, milk cartons.

    Green Design

TransPak knows that the proper design of crates can minimize material usage and scrap. We have the experience and knowledge to create designs that minimize outside dimensions and weight for reduced shipping costs and fuel usage. TransPak utilizes special design and assembling techniques to make the components of your crates easy to separate in order to increase the recycling capabilities. This is particularly important when shipping to Europe and many Asian destinations that have strict recycling regulations.

    Recycling

TransPak follows an aggressive recycling program for its waste stream. All scrap wood is ground and recycled into fireplace logs or press board, while all scrap foam is compressed into bails and converted into carpet padding and/or returned to the foam manufacturers for use in recycled products.
